What is Cardiac Rehabilitation?
Cardiac Rehab is an exercise and education program designed for individuals who have experienced a heart related incident, such as a heart attack or bypass surgery, or at a high risk for heart disease. This program strives to enhance the quality of life by promoting immediate and long-term life style changes as well as developing social support.
What does it involve?
Participants meet for exercise sessions three times a week. Our program is staffed by caring health professionals who lead participants in a safe and monitored exercise environment. Education includes a variety of topics such as risk factors, nutrition, stress management, exercise and medications. Each participant will meet with the dietitian and pharmacist during their rehab program.
How much exercise will I have to do?
The exercise you do will be based on your individual abilities and is increased as tolerated. This will be determined by the exercise specialist, program director, attending physician and participant.
What are the hours?
Our hours are Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8:00am to 3:00pm. You can plan to be in a rehab for about one hour per session. You will be assigned a specific time for your exercise session. If these hours are not suitable to your needs, please speak to our staff about alternate hours.
What does it Cost?
There are different costs for different phases of the program, depending on your situation. Some phases are covered by insurance and some are not, depending on your insurance carrier. The staff will be glad to help you determine the cost of your program.
